Tates Creek 2015 Commitments

2015 Kings Black Attackman/Midfielder Scottie Southall has committed to play Division III lacrosse for the Transylvania University Pioneers in Lexington, Kentucky.  Southall will be joining many of his former Tates Creek and Kings teammates at TU in their fourth season of play. Southall, a 5’8” 140 pound midfielder contributed 25 goals and 44 ground balls as a senior for the Commodores. As a three year varsity starter and four year varsity team member, Southall showed a knack to put the ball in the back of the net as a product of great off ball movement.

“Scottie is one of our original Kings members and he has always elevated his game to find a role offensively for our elite teams.  He really developed as an off ball guy for us that made great cuts for goals or drew many penalties off the dodge.  What made Scottie huge for us was his ability to let his game come to him without forcing it.  Scottie also brings a great personality that will be very coachable at the next level."

2015 Kings Black Midfielder Ethan Borkosky has committed to play Division III lacrosse for the Transylvania University Pioneers in Lexington, Kentucky.  Borkosky, a 5’11” 160 pound midfielder is a do-it-all player that can play both sides of the ball while also facing off.  Ethan displayed a cannon of a shot and hard nosed defense throughout his career with the Kings.  In his four years of varsity lacrosse with the Tates Creek Commodores, Borkosky recorded 288 groundballs, 57 goals, 33 assists and won at a 60% clip from the face off X.

“Ethan steadily improved in all facets throughout his Kings career as he has been with us from the very beginning.  He developed his game to not just be a FOGO but a steady force for us offensively and one of our best short stick defenders.  His overall game will give him the opportunity to fill multiple roles at the next level.  Ethan also brings toughness and a chip on his shoulder that cannot be matched.  He always wants to win his matchup."

2015 Kings Black Attackman Chris Schaefer has committed to play Division III lacrosse for the Transylvania University Pioneers in Lexington, Kentucky.  Schaefer, a 6’3” 180 pound attackman proved to be one of the toughest covers in Lexington.  Schaefer was a four year varsity players that registered 107 goals and 77 assists to put him as one of the most dominant offensive players in Tates Creek history.

“Chris is a player that had been here from the ground up with Kings. He is a true team player that would rather distribute the ball to an open teammates rather than take a lesser angle shot.  With Chris’ frame and slick stick skills he could be an immediate impact for the Pioneers.  Not only will Chris bring great offensive ability but he will more importantly bring the best out of his teammates with his attitude and effort.”

2015 Kings Black Midfielder Tanner Wright has committed to play Division III lacrosse for the Transylvania University Pioneers in Lexington, Kentucky.  Wright, a 6’0” 175 pound midfielder proved to be one of the most dynamic midfielders in the state as a four year varsity player for the Commodores. Wright also made the Carolina Summer Shootout all-star team in his last summer with Kings Black.  Wright was twice named All-State and tallied over 170 career points throughout his four dominant years.

“Wright is one of the shiftier players I have ever coached.  He can break down his man one on one to get his shot but most importantly he can find open teammates all over the field. His unselfishness is what makes him a special player and will continue to do so at the next level.  Tanner has all the tools to be successful including the work ethic and attitude to continue elevating his game."
