Our Commonwealth Kings Shout Out goes to: Terry Justice, Previous HC of University of Kentucky, The Lexington School, Lexington Catholic & Transylvania University Terry Justice is a pioneer of lacrosse in Kentucky and the founding head coach of Transylvania University men’s lacrosse. At the turn of the century, his influence helped ignite the sport’s growth in Lexington—starting with a middle school team in 1999 and the city’s first high school club program in 2000. He later built and led the Lexington Catholic lacrosse program from 2004–2011, compiling a 73–33 record, earning Kentucky State High School Coach of the Year honors in 2004 and 2005, and guiding the Knights to state runner-up finishes in 2006 and 2008. From 2011–2021, Justice built Transylvania’s men’s lacrosse program from the ground up, leading it to sustained success and NCAA Tournament appearances before retiring, leaving a lasting legacy on the sport across the state. Fun Fact: In 2007, Justice’s Lexington Catholic team beat Culver Military Academy in one of the program’s most historical wins.
