Webb VanMeter and Cooper Cason to Transylvania University

2015 Kings Black Long Stick Midfielder and Defenseman Webb VanMeter has committed to play Division III Lacrosse for the Transylvania University Pioneers in Lexington, Kentucky.  VanMeter will be joining the Pioneers in their 4th season of play and second season in the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference. Webb, a 5’10” 175 defender is one of the best defensive players in the state while also standing out on the football field for the Blue Devils as a Linebacker. A three year starter for the Henry Clay Lacrosse program, VanMeter has lead Henry Clay High School to back to back KLA championship games including a state championship victory in the 2013 season. Webb is a captain and garnered All-State honors as a junior for the Blue Devils.

“Webb is a tremendous athlete and lacrosse player.  He possesses great strength, footwork and stick skills.  He will certainly challenge for playing time when he steps on campus for the Pioneers.  Not only does Webb stand out on the field but his character, work ethic and attitude make him a great addition to Coach Terry Justice’s Transylvania Program."

2015 Kings Black Attackman/Midfielder Cooper Cason has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Cason will join the Pioneers after his senior season at Henry Clay High School.  Cason, a 6’2” 180 pound attackman/midfielder, is one of the elite offensive talents in the state.  Cooper is one of the most dynamic players in Commonwealth Kings history and was recruited by programs at the Division I, II and III levels before setting his sights on playing for the Pioneers. Cooper is also a standout on the ice with the Henry Clay hockey team as their leading point scorer for the Devils.  Cason has garnered All-State accolades twice in three years as a starter including 129 points during his sophomore and junior seasons in addition to leading his team to back to back state championship seasons including a title in 2013.  Cason was awarded All-Star nods at the Chicago Cup, Great Lakes Games and Carolina Summer Shootout.

“Cooper is one of the most dynamic offensive talents ever in Lexington.  He is the complete package you will look for in a player.  He can finish, feed and ride.  Not only does Cooper make an immediate impact on the field but more importantly he is a great leader and teammate.  He would much rather assist a goal than score, he is the consummate teammate.  Coach Justice is getting a player that will immediately make an impact offensively and bring a tremendous attitude."
